Almost 4,000 fans packed out Aggborough and were treated with an intense game in the driving rain, as both teams created chances.

The Southern Central Premier visitors Halesowen landed the first blow with the opening goal after 10 minutes.

A back-pass to Harriers goalkeeper Christian Dibble was too short and Jordan Ponticelli pounced to steer the ball into the net.

In a back-and-forth contest the hosts fought back before half-time as the Yeltz were unable to clear a Caleb Richards ball into the area and Reece Devine was on hand to fire home.

Both sides had chances before the break and Ponticelli thought he had a second when he took aim, but Dibble got a slight touch to turn the ball around the post.

As the game reached the latter stages Harriers began to flex their National League North muscles and with 12 minutes left to play they had two efforts cleared off the line as they searched for a winner.

Hall had a shot saved moments before his memorable winning goal, tapping home at the second attempt after a header was saved, to score his first senior goal after graduating from the Harriers academy.

That 92nd minute winner sent Harriers through to the third round of the FA Trophy in a derby day to remember.

"It was a really good game of football, I really enjoyed it," Harriers boss Phil Brown said.

"I have nothing but good things to say about Russ Penn, he's got his team organised and physically fit.

"Tactically it was a great battle in the first half, especially when I couldn't get to grips with what system they were playing."

Penn added: "I thought we were absolutely magnificent, we matched them. It was a cruel way to finish."

Elsewhere in the competition, Rushall Olympic also progressed to the next round thanks to a goal from former Wolves striker Liam McAlinden in the 1-0 win at Royston Town.

The hosts had their goalkeeper sent off in the second half but still managed to get a 98th minute penalty, which they missed, handing Rushall the win.

Chasetown drew 0-0 with Alvechurch but lost 5-4 on penalties and were eliminated, while Sporting Khalsa also crashed out of the competition after a 5-0 loss at Oxford City.
