Wolves Women had the perfect start to their Adobe Women’s FA Cup campaign last week after a ruthless display against Asfordby Amateurs in the East Midlands with midfielder Tammi George bagging a hat-trick in the process.

They now return to National League action and face Liverpool Feds on Sunday.

The home side currently sit sixth in the league having won five games out of nine, while Wolves remain at the summit of the table and have an opportunity to extend their two-point lead between them and second-placed Nottingham Forest with a win.

Manager Dan McNamara has said his team ‘have to be ready’ for the next challenge.

He said: “The preparation never changes, but we have to make sure we are switched on now.

“We have got a really tough away game. Not many teams go up there and win, we have found that out over the years.

“We have to make sure we are switched on, they will not stop.

“They are a team from the North West that will keep going.

“They will not give you an inch and we have to be ready for that.

“We have to make sure we prepare well to be ready for what will be a tough test for us."

The manager has said there is ‘no pressure’ on his side, despite Wolves currently being league leaders.

“I told the girls last week to enjoy being at the top of the league, but we have switched off from that now," McNamara added.

“I don’t look at the table and I won’t look at it for a while. That is because there are still twelve league games to go.

“But we go up there in amongst the clubs that are favourable to go on and win this.

“We will see what we can do, there is no pressure on us.

“I say it week on week, we are far outdoing what we should be doing in and amongst this group.

“We will see who trains well and work out our plan for Sunday.”
