Darlaston light-heavyweight Whittaker fought Cameron on the undercard for Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol's undisputed light-heavyweight fight on October 12.

Whittaker struggled to impose his trademark flashy style against Cameron, before the pair bundled over the top ropes in dramatic fashion at the end of the fifth round.

The Black Country fighter suffered injuries to his neck and ankle and was unable to continue the fight.

He left the arena in a wheelchair as the fight went to a technical decision and the judges declared it a draw.

Now, Cameron's manager Lee Eaton has revealed both parties are now in talks for an immediate rematch.

"Had good chat to his (Whittaker's) lawyer last night," tweeted Eaton.

"Interesting convo - rematch will happen I'm sure of it."

Cameron was getting the better of Whittaker when the fight ended prematurely and the Sheffield scrapper has been calling for a rematch since it ended.

"He 100 per cent quit, of course he did,"  Cameron said.

"From the second round, he was breathing so heavy. He spat his gum shield out, he was holding me constantly, he was low-blowing me.

"And he basically dragged me onto the ropes. You can see him flip his head back.

"He was exhausted, I was quite surprised how easy it was.

"He needs that rematch. There's no way out of it. The fans are going to demand it."
