Tommy Simkin - 8 (Instrumental)

Made an impressive first half save to deny Dion Charles and played an instrumental role in both goals as he collected an assist for Liam Gordon's equaliser.

David Okagbue - 7 (Assured)

Produced a composed defensive display and also looked confident when venturing forward as his pass in behind led to a chance for Nathan Lowe early in the second half.

Harry Williams - 7 (Warrior)

Never shirked a challenge and expertly marshalled the threat of Charles. He suffered a nasty collision with the advertising hoardings and was forced off late on.

Taylor Allen - 7 (Threat)

He performed his defensive duties well and drove forward down the left to help create overloads especially in the second half when Walsall were pressing for a winner.

Ryan Stirk - 6 (Forced off)

The midfielder missed training on Thursday due to illness and lasted just 30 minutes before having to be replaced by Charlie Lakin.

Connor Barrett - 8 (Dangerous)

Impressed once again with a classy performance. Always looked to take on his man down the right and stung the palms of Luke Southwood with a powerful strike from distance.

Jamie Jellis - 9 (Match winner)

Was clearly on a quest to extend his impressive goal scoring form of late and was rewarded for his perseverance with a dramatic stoppage time winner. He also hit the post and came close twice in the first half.

Jack Earing - 7 (Tireless)

Never stopped running throughout and played a key role in the press with an energetic display against his former club.

Liam Gordon - 8 (Key)

Looked strong both defensively and offensively and capped a fantastic afternoon with the equalising goal against his former employers.

Nathan Lowe - 8 (Bright)

The teenager was a threat once again especially with his back to goal as he played a perfectly weighted pass to set-up Jellis' winner.

Albert Adomah - 7 (Energetic)

Had a great chance cleared off the line by George Johnston in the first half and led from the front in style with an energetic display.

Substitutes

Charlie Lakin - 7 (for Stirk, 30)

Was called upon on the half-hour after Stirk was forced off and adjusted seamlessly to the contest with a strong all-round performance.

Donervon Daniels (for Williams, 78)

Came into the back-line for the closing stages after Williams' nasty collision and helped see Walsall over the line.

George Hall (for Earing, 78)

The Birmingham City loanee provided an injection of energy following his late introduction.

Jamille Matt (for Adomah, 86)

The experienced frontman created an extra presence up front during the final stretch of the contest.
