Whiley, and her wheelchair doubles partner Yui Kamiji, were beaten by top-seeded Dutch pair Diede De Groot and Aniek Van Koot in three sets at Roland Garros on Saturday.

Back in January the duo won the Australian Open doubles title. They followed that success by claiming the US Open doubles crown in September.

But they were unable to make it a hat-trick of titles as they lost on a match tie break 7-6, 3-6, 10-8.

They have previously won the Roland Garros women’s doubles title together in 2014 and 2016.
