The team is gearing up for its first0ever season with a title sponsor after two successful self-funded years in the competition.

The black and gold design sees OMG’s branding merge with title sponsor Rich Energy – in an colour scheme that aim to capture memories of a golden age of motorcycle racing.

This year not only a change in colour for the Staffordshire team, but also in machinery, as all three of its racer will line up for the new British Superbike season on the new BMW S1000RR.

has also changed for 2020 with former MotoGP star Héctor Barberá lining up alongside BSB regular Luke Mossey on the Superbike, with Billy McConnell returning on the National Superstock 1000 bike as he battles back from an injury that hampered his 2019 title hopes.

Team owner Alan Gardner said: “With the start of the season around the corner, we are delighted to unveil our 2020 livery for the Bennetts British Superbike Championship.

"Whilst visually our bike has changed a lot, supporters can still expect the same OMG commitment to our fans and the paddock.

"A massive thank you to our title sponsor Rich Energy, and to all our product sponsors for the 2020 season who have supported us during these unprecedented times for sport.

"And a huge thank you to all our fantastic key workers, and to everyone who has followed the guidance set by the government so that we’re now able to see bikes back out on the track again.

"It’s been a long wait since we were challenging at the top of the timesheets in Spain but we’re more ready than ever to get back to doing what we do best.”

Team principal Paul Curran the new BMW S1000RR had already proved to be a fantastic bike with a calibre to challenge for race wins at every circuit on the revised 2020 calendar.

"We have got a strong rider line-up and a great team working to develop the bike, and now a fantastic new look for the season," he said.

"We’ve had a long break since the superbikes turned a wheel in Jerez and personally I can’t wait to see the bikes back out on track at the Donington Park test where we can get some useful data back on a UK circuit.

"We’ve made huge strides since last season, and we will be looking to reflect that with our results on track.”

The British Superbike championship got underway with the official test at Donington Park today (JUL 28), with the same circuit opening round over the weekend of August 7-9.

And fans from Black Country and Staffordshire will have plenty of riders to cheer when the flag finally drops next month.

Brierley Hill's Michael Rutter will be leading the charge in the support series, entering the National Superstock 1000 championship as both a rider and team boss of Black Country-based Bathams Racing, alongside his new team-mate and current superstock 1000 champion, Richard Cooper.

Rutter, aged 48, will enter as many rounds as he sees fit but his main focus this year will be winning a first title with Cooper for Bathams Racing.

Twins Kurt and Matt Wigley, from Hednesford, in Staffordshire, will also be back competing in the British Supersport championship – but in slightly different classes and on slightly different bikes.

Kurt, 24, will again be riding a supersport machine while Matt has opted to try riding one of the prototype GP2 bikes.

It means they will be on the same start line but their results will be split into their respective classes.

One of the biggest shocks to come out of the BSB paddock towards the end of the 2019 campaign was that teenager Storm Stacey would be stepping up into the main British Superbikes series.

Stacey, 17, from Eccelshall, has been turning heads for a number of years whilst rising through the ranks.

And now he has been rewarded for his stunning debut campaign on 600cc motorbike, which saw him just miss out on National Superstock 600 title at the final round.

Ben Taylor, 15, from Kidderminster, will be riding with SBX RACING, on board his Kawasaki Ninja 400, in the British Junior Supersport Championship.

Stuart Tromans, from Brownhills, owner of the Tromans’ Astro JJR (James Jackson Racing) team, is supporting New Zealanders Shane Richardson and Damon Rees, both aged 24, in the National Superstock 1000 series.
