Elina Svitolina, Ashleigh Barty and Aryna Sabalenka – ranked sixth, ninth and 10th in the world – were all announced yesterday for next month’s tournament.

They join world No.1 Naomi Osaka and world No.2 Petra Kvitova at Edgbaston Priory Club from June 15-23.

Tournament director Patrick Hughesman said: “The tournament is a wonderful chance to open tennis up to the people of Birmingham and beyond because first and foremost it’s a great day out. Whether it’s your first experience of tennis or you are a long-time fan; whether you play regularly or not, we want you to be part of Britain’s brilliant summer of tennis and Birmingham’s summer of sport.”

Grand Slam singles winners Garbine Muguruza and Jelena Ostapenko are also in the tournament, as well as 2017 US Open runner-up Madison Keys.

Kvitova – a double Wimbledon champion – has won on the grass courts of Birmingham for the last two years, defeating Barty and Magdalena Rybarikova in a pair of classic finals.

Tickets are available from www.lta.org.uk/naturevalleyclassic. Centre Court prices start at £12 for children and £30 for adults.
