West Brom v Rotherham: Can the Millers cause an upset?
Flirting with relegation is not a predicament Rotherham United are new to.
It's been a rollercoaster few years for the Millers, who more often than not have been battling for promotion from League One or scrambling to avoid relegation from the Championship.
Mid-table mediocrity is just not in their DNA.
After achieving promotion from League One during the 2013/14 campaign under the divisive Steve Evans, the Millers avoided relegation from the Championship by one position for two consecutive seasons before finally succumbing to the drop in the 2016/17 season.
Of course, Rotherham being Rotherham, bounced back at the first attempt in dramatic fashion defeating Shrewsbury at Wembley, their second play-off final in four years.
Fast forward 11 months, the Millers find themselves three points off safety with only two league games remaining.
A drop to the third tier looks inevitable once again, further prolonging their tag as a 'yo-yo club'.
Yes, that old football cliché, a term which West Bromwich Albion may be all too familiar with.
Paul Warne's side experienced a wretched Easter weekend, narrowly defeated at Swansea City, before squandering a first-half lead to lose handsomely at the hands of Birmingham City.
Their trip to The Hawthorns this weekend is pivotal, with three points the only outcome which can realistically hand them a lifeline in remaining in the Championship for another season.
Millers boss Paul Warne remains determined to retain Championship status before it's mathematically impossible.
"We dedicate our lives to this club and we're trying to do everything we can" Warne explained. “If we fall short then that's on me, but we've tried to play the right way and tried to score goals in games and take points.
"I've been pretty proud of what we've done.
“Unfortunately at the moment, we're in the wrong side of the bottom three.”
Rotherham's tough task is not helped by the fact they face two sides in the top seven (final fixture – Middlesbrough at home) in their remaining league games, although Warne holds hope that James Shan's Albion side may have one eye firmly positioned on their upcoming play-off duel, likely to be against fierce rivals Villa.
“The last couple of games they've rested no end of their players" Warne alluded to.
"They'll want to put a show on in their last home game of their season and we've got to really try and play against them."
Danger man
Semi Ajayi
Ajayi, who can play as a centre-half or holding midfielder, has scored eight goals in the Millers' push for second-tier survival and has broken into the Nigerian international set-up.
He has started every Millers match this season and hit the net five times in five games last month to pick up March's SkyBet Player of the Month award.
He was signed on a free transfer from Cardiff City by current boss Paul Warne after a successful loan spell in 2017 and has made 104 appearances in total.
