Up and down round for Aaron Rai

Wolverhampton golfer Aaron Rai completed his first round at the BMW British Masters in joint-70th.

The 22-year-old had an up-and-down round with five birdies countered by five bogeys in his level par round of 70 at the tournament at Close House, in Northumberland.

Meanwhile, Staffordshire’s Robert Rock ended the first round on two under par. The Armitage golfer carded four birdies and two bogeys in his score of 68.

Rock is five shots off co-leader George Coetzee and Tyrell Hatton.
