Adam Skornicki is back at the champs

The charismatic Pole has spent eight seasons with the club in a spell spanning back to 2000 but has been lost to British speedway since dislocating his hip while riding for Birmingham in 2014.

After a spell managing top club Unia Leszno in his homeland, he began plotting a track return late last year and appeared in the season-ending Olympique at Monmore Green last October.

He will now make a remarkable comeback on a re-assessed 7.22 average, joining talented youngster Nathan Greaves after the pair were snapped up to complete their side.

The duo will join returning title winners Freddie Lindgren, Jacob Thorssell, Sam Masters, Kyle Howarth and Max Clegg in their septet as they go in search of SGB Premiership glory.

And Skornicki, 40, admits he can't wait for his 'special' return when the new campaign gets under way in March.

He said: "After not racing speedway for two-and-a-half years, I'm very fortunate to be able to come back to the track.

"The chance to not only come back but to ride for Wolverhampton again is very special for me, and I'm really excited.

"I've always had a great time with Wolves and had a great relationship with the club and supporters, so to be able to ride there again is perfect for me. It's definitely going to be a very interesting season for us.

"At the end of last season I jumped on the bike to do a couple of open meetings, and I feel good on the bike.

"It's maybe going to be tough in the first few weeks, but I think I can do a good job over the season
