The Swedish legend captained the club to the Elite League title last season and has now been snapped up to lead their quest for glory in the revamped SGB Premiership.

The 31-year-old has spent 13 of the last 14 seasons in gold and black and has spoken of his delight after securing a return to Monmore Green.

He is desperate to help them pick up where they left off to defend their top flight crown.

Lindgren said: "When I made the decision that I wanted to come back and race in England, my obvious choice was Wolverhampton.

"That was always my first choice, it's the club I've always ridden for in England and I've always enjoyed my time there.

"Last season was a good one for me, but the plan is to keep that going and my aim is to have an even better year in 2017."

Meanwhile, Parrys International Wolves co-promoter Chris Van Straaten is thrilled to have quickly secured the services of Lindgren to lead them into next season.

Van Straaten said: "

We had to put him in place before we could start building the rest of the team."
