The only PDC tournament to formally invite players from the BDO again takes place for a ninth year with the 10th edition at the Civic, from November 12-20.

One player from the BDO will feature in all of the eight four-man groups, with Hughes making the cut as he's ranked fourth with the organisation.

'Yozza' begins his Group G campaign with a Saturday afternoon tie against James Wade, in the penultimate tie of that schedule. Rivals Dave Chisnall and Dave Wilson are on fourth.

Grand Slam debutants Gerwyn Price and Dmitri van den Burgh will stage the competition's curtain raiser in Group B just after 1pm, which will last until 5pm.

Simon Whitlock and Ted Evetts then clash in Group C, with Mensur Suljovic to follow against the BDO's Danny Noppert in Group F.

The only BDO thrower to ever win the Grand Slam, reigning world champion Scott Waites, takes on Robert Thornton in Group B.

Fellow former Grand Slam title winner Raymond van Barneveld will then toe the oche against Nathan Aspinall in Group F, with Peter Wright and Jeff Smith on last in a Group C affair.

The action resumes with the Saturday evening session from 7.30pm, featuring darters from the rest of the draw.

Brendan Dolan kicks it off against Max Hopp in Group A, before Alan Norris and Nathan Derry meet in Group E.

Ian White and Darren Webster follow in Group D, before Benito van de Pas and Chris Dobey collide in Group H.

The PDC's top four then feature, as 16-time world champion and six-time Grand Slam titlist Phil Taylor locks horns with the BDO's Darryl Fitton.

PDC world boss Gary Anderson jostles with the BDO's No 1, Glen Durrant in Group E, before Michael van Gerwen begins his Grand Slam title defence against the BDO's Martin Adams.

The first day of darts culminates with a Group H tie between third seed Adrian Lewis and the BDO's Scott Mitchell, both former world champions in their respective organisations.

Sunday afternoon's session will see Groups B, C, F and G compete, with first game losers playing each other as will opening match winners.

Sunday night will see Groups A, D, E and H do battle, under the same proviso with the second of three group ties.

Groups A, D, E and H return on Monday for their last games before the knockout stages while B, C, F and G are back on Tuesday night.

Four second round ties will take place on Wednesday and Thursday night respectively, with play upgraded from first-to-five legs to best-of-19.

Friday evening's two quarter-finals (7pm) are a first-to-16 race, which remains the format for the rest of the event. Two more follow on Saturday, from 8pm.

Two sessions on Sunday complete the tournament, with the two semi-finals from 1pm. The decider begins just after 7pm. All games will be live on Sky Sports.

Tickets for the Grand Slam are still on sale, by calling the Civic Box Office on 0870 320 7000 or online via www.theticketfactory.com/pdc.
