Transfer Rumours - August 17
Expressandstar.com bring you all of the latest transfer talk from Wolves, West Brom, Aston Villa and Walsall.
We are not saying they are true – just that they are out there.
WOLVES
The reports about a move for Benfica's Luisao are refusing to go away.
The veteran defender was understood to be the subject of a last-ditch - and failed - bid from Chelsea last summer, having spent 13 years with the Portuguese side.
Reports in Portugal now suggest that the 35-year-old Brazilian's time with Benfica could be numbered, with Wolves understood to be leading the race to sign Luisao and bolster their defensive options.
WEST BROM
Salomon Rondon has emerged as a shock target for Luis Enrique's Barcelona.
The Spanish head coach is aiming to acquire a "Plan B," and the Venezuelan's brute force could hand the Blaugrana a threat from set pieces.
However Barca also have several other candidates to improve their strike force and Tony Pulis will be determined to hold onto his main striker
ASTON VILLA
Aston Villa have made an enquiry to sign Tottenham right-back Kieran Trippier on a season-long loan.
Roberto Di Matteo has handed starts to Alan Hutton, Leandro Bacuna and Micah Richards at right-back so far this season, with none of the trio particularly impressing.
WALSALL
All quiet at the Banks's today
