We are not saying they are true – just that they are out there.

WOLVES

Wolves face competition to land midfielder Nick Powell after his release from Manchester United, as expected.

His former loan club Hull City are thought to be interested, despite winning promotion to the Premier League.

But the lack of a concrete offer from the Tigers, who are pursuing a host of transfer targets, may force him to look elsewhere.

He only made five appearances for Hull, after joining from United in January, and wouldn't be guaranteed a first-team place.

The 22-year-old wants security and to be playing regularly which could work in Wolves, Blackburn and other Championship clubs' favour.

WEST BROM

West Brom winger Callum McManaman is one of those in Hull's sights and the player would prefer to stay in the Premier League.

He's out-of-favour at the Hawthorns and is likely to be pushed down the pecking order further by the arrival of Matt Phillips.

Hull boss Steve Bruce is a known admirer of McManaman, 25, and lost out to the Baggies when they signed him in January 2015.

Albion are likely to demand £4million to let him move on, which could mostly fund a £5m offer for Leeds left-back Charlie Taylor.

ASTON VILLA

Aston Villa are waiting to hear whether their attempts to bring striker Patrick Bamford to the club on loan next season have been successful.

Villa boss Roberto Di Matteo still has contacts at Chelsea through his time as a player and manager with the Blues and is hoping to use them.

But new Chelsea chief Antonio Conte has yet to formally take charge and run the rule over all of his players, including 23-year-old Bamford.

WALSALL

All quiet at the Banks's Stadium today.
