Wednesfield's Dave Lloyd (Maver Midlands) celebrated a double success at Preston Innovations Boldings Pools in Bridgnorth.

First under his belt was the 25-entry open staged across the Sycamore, Willows and Chestnut Pools.

Pole-fishing pellet and maggot at 12 metres off Sycamore peg eight, Lloyd slid 94-6-0 of carp to 7lb plus bream and barbel into his keepnets.

Howard Williams (Tri-Cast Weston) came second from Willows peg four with 82-2-0.

Penkridge rod Dave Brown (Maver Midlands) slotted into third with 77-12-0 at Chestnut peg 21.

Lloyd's next triumph came at the 25-peg Larch, Willows and Sycamore Pools open when he edged home by one ounce. He returned 55-5-0 of pellet and maggot-tempted carp to 5lb, caught at seven metres from Larch peg 22.

Brown had to settle for second on Willows peg 18 with 55-4-0, ahead of Mark Stevens (Sonubaits), who recorded 52-15-0 on Willows peg 13.

Wolverhampton-based air conditioning engineer Dave McCall (Shakespeare Superteam) clinched the win at the 28-peg Hodnet AC Open staged on the Shropshire Union Canal in Market Drayton.

Less than eight ounces split the decision for the top three and McCall just edged it on peg two with 3-15-9 of roach and gudgeon, which fell to poled bread punch and pinkie.

Chester Tackle Locker's Chris Morris did the same on peg one for 3-12-0, ahead of Keith Cummings (Birkenhead AC), who scaled 3-7-10.

Halesowen RBL's Brian Smith was a clear winner in round six of the Winter Pairs Series, held around the Cherries and Bridge Pools at Blythe Waters in Knowle.

Smith topped the standings with 74-10-0, ahead of team-mate Martyn Yarsley (39-10-0).

Yarsley and fellow Halesowen RBL man Paul Evans are second in the league with 105 points.
