Rangers gain their revenge
Stafford Rangers took revenge on Leek Town thanks to a 95th-minute Nathan Rooney strike which put his side 15 points clear at the top of Evo-Stik Division One South.
The result extended Rangers' unbeaten home run to 31 games, equalling their post-war record.
Neil Kitching's side looked to have settled for a goalless draw against the side who beat them 2-0 less than two weeks until the ex-Wolves youngster won the match in style.
"I'd have probably been happy with a point but to show the grit, determination and will to win against a stubborn Leek side was excellent," said Kitching. "We looked like a table-topping side who are hopefully going to win the league."
Still smarting from their defeat at Harrison Park last month, the Boro started on the front foot with Ben Haseley beating his man before losing control of the ball.
Levi Reid also went close on 18 minutes but he dragged his effort wide.
The visitors kept Rangers down to few chances and had a chance of their own on 59 minutes when Tim Grice saw his shot across goal palmed wide by Adam Whitehouse.
Leek went even closer to goal on the 81st minute when Grice beat Whitehouse to a high ball and nodded through to substitute Kyle Diskin who fired over the empty goal from 15 yards out.
Rooney gathered the ball outside the box on the 95th minute before beating his man and firing the ball into the bottom corner to give Rangers the points.
