Now it's 11 wins and counting for jubilant Sporting Khalsa
Khalsa stretched their winning league run to 11 matches as goals from Tes Robinson and Marvin Nisbett saw off a very game Stourport side.
And although they lie fourth in the Midland Football League Premier, nine points behind leaders Hereford, they have no fewer than four matches in hand on the summit side.
Although the game was switched from Stourport, there was no escape from the weather as the match was played out in heavy conditions.
The first half was a tepid affair, although a trio of opportunities presented themselves to the home side.
On 22 minutes, Khalsa top scorer Craig Bannister found himself in a shooting position and fired wide at the near post. Seconds later Nisbett managed to put Swifts keeper Dominic Richards under enough pressure for him to spill the ball, but the striker was unable to force it home from a challenging angle.
Things cranked up a little before half-time; a looping header by Brad Lawley was tipped over the bar by Richards and two minutes later at the other end a shot by James Hill was well held by James Pemberton.
Richards produced a superb save on 43 minutes, Lawley chesting a ball down to Bannister who hit a fine long-range effort and right on the whistle Richards again denied Bannister, parrying his curling free-kick.
Ben Maund fired the opening shot of the second half, forcing a routine save from Pemberton shortly after the restart.
On 48 minutes, Bannister's long-range effort flew just past the left-hand post of Richards.
Khalsa finally took the lead on 57 minutes, Robinson smashing the ball into the roof of the net after Lawley had headed on Tim Jackson's corner. And five minutes later Nisbett wrapped up the scoring, lobbing home after chasing a through ball.
Stourport captain Ryan Wallacott showed some real quality on 75 minutes, weaving through the Khalsa midfield and firing a decent effort just wide.
With 10 minutes to go, substitute Simeon Townsend's header looped just over from Nisbett's cross and with the clock ticking to full-time Nisbett's header from a deep Bannister free-kick ended up going just over the bar.
The result strengthens Khalsa's grip on fourth spot and means they have kept a clean sheet in their last five games in all competitions. They have won all 10 of their home league games, conceding just five goals.
Khalsa travel to face Heanor Town tomorrow night (7.45pm) in the league cup.
