Swimming duo take aim at the Olympics
Two Black Country swimming stars are taking aim at the Olympics after shining on the global stage this summer.
Chloe Finch, from Rowley Regis, and Brittany Horton, from Brierley Hill, flew the flag for Great Britain and England respectively.
It came at the World Junior Championships in Singapore in August and the Commonwealth Youth Games in Samoa in September.
Horton, 16, won women's 4x100m relay silver at the Commonwealth Youth Games while Finch, 17, came eighth in the world junior final of the 400m individual freestyle.
And having reached the top level in junior swimming, both are now taking aim at Rio 2016.
Horton and Finch both swim for City of Birmingham Swimming Club and their coach Carl Grosvenor said: "They are among the top (swimmers) in the world in terms of junior swimming.
"Both of them have proved that but they are coming to the end of junior swimming and they need to make the step up to that senior level now. They will both try to make the Olympic team.
"They are already up there in terms of rankings. They are both in the top five for their events but they have never represented Great Britain at senior level yet so that is what they are aiming for.
"It will be a long shot but they have got a chance."
Both swimmers will be targeting a fine showing at the Olympic trials in Glasgow next spring and will be working hard in the coming months in preparation for the big day.
Grosvenor added that their recent success on the international stage has helped City of Birmingham Swimming Club enjoy its most successful summer for several years.
Sutton Coldfield's Luke Davies, 18, won three medals at the European Games in Azerbaijan while Caitlin Hubbard, from Solihull, won relay silver at the European Youth Olympic Festival in Georgia.
