Wollaston reigns at Kings Pool in Evening Open
Tony Wollaston made a splash at Kings Pool to win the Monday Evening Carp Pool open in Shareshill.
Wollaston, from Fatties Bait & Tackle, pole-fished maggot on peg five to net 69-14-0 of carp and F1s, both species averaging 1lb apiece.
Kings' own Dave Mortlock came second with 64-11-0 of corn-tempted larger carp and F1s.
Swan Elite's Terry Edwards won the Wednesday Affordable on the Big Match Pool with 52-11-0 of F1s to 12oz, captured long on poled maggot, ahead of John Cockayne (King's) who claimed 46-14-0 of carp and F1s. Dudley rod Les Thompson (Matrix VDE) topped Saturday's 25-entry Big Match Pool open event with F1s to 10oz, caught at distance on poled pellet from in-form peg 65.
Bentley-based Gary Gollins (Swan Elite) was second with 47-10-0 of F1s to 1lb.
The Kings' men reigned at Sunday's Big Match and Carp Pool open where Nigel Clarke headed the 29-strong field with 89-11-0 of F1s to 2lb, caught on poled maggot down the edges of Big Match peg 65. John Cockayne was second with 79-14-0 of smaller F1s to 1lb while Icky Kull scaled 69-14-0 for third.
Wolverhampton rod Dave White (Maver Midlands) triumphed at Sunday's 41-entry Molands Mere open at Packington Somers Fisheries in Meriden.
He used pellet waggler on peg 46 to net 80-4-0 of carp to 11lb and F1s up to 3lb for a decisive win. Jason Landurri (Packington) and Pete Heaven (Greyhound AC) were second and third with 58-0-0 and 57-15-0.
Keith Millard won a close battle at Sunday's Poole Hall open on the Heron Pool at the Alveley.
Millard won on peg 14 with 40-12-0 of carp up to 9½lb, caught on pole-fished meat, pellet and corn. Steve Burrows was second with 39-4-0 while Tony Mills was third with 32-8-0.
Poole Hall Fisheries will host a New Year's Open on January 15. It will be a ticket holders only event 30 pegs are available.
