McNally: Time to run again

Hednesford Town boss Bernard McNally is seeking another FA Cup run ahead of their home clash with Bedworth United.

Tomorrow's opponents are currently bottom of the Evo-Stik Southern Premier, conceding 25 goals in 10 games, while Hednesford are firmly in mid-table of National League North. McNally alluded to the FA Cup run on the 1997/98 season which saw the Pitmen triumph over the likes of Blackpool and York City before falling to Middlesbrough in the fourth round.

He wants to create more excitement among the Keys Park faithful but knows not to underestimate the visitors.

"It's about time that Hednesford had another cup run, there's nothing like the FA Cup so if we could have another run then that would be great," said McNally. "Back in 1997 when we went to Middlesbrough, everybody said there was hardly anybody left in the town.

"That's what we need again, but of course we need to get through this first.

"We have got to into the game with no fear, the FA Cup always throws up unexpected results so we won't be complacent.

"We've got to turn up on the day."
