Hot-shot Bishop is the talk of the town

Chris Bisop grabbed the headlines as FC Oswestry Town returned to winning ways with a 4-2 Premier Division success at Shifnal Reserves.

The win lifted Town up to third in the Mercian Regional League Pemier Division.

Stung by a 6-5 loss at Childs Ercall in their previous outing, Town took charge early in the first half with Bishop netting twice.

Shifnal reduced the deficit but Bishop then completed his hat-trick with Stefan Ivanov adding a fourth before the interval.

Town missed several chances to increase their advantage in the second half and the only other goal came just before full-time when Shifnal grabbed a consolation effort to make it 4-2.

Comfortable

Stuart Corns and Ryan Mansell were in red-hot form as Wroxeter Rovers turned on the style against Bridgnorth Reserves.

The duo both bagged a hat-tricks to help fire Rovers to a resounding 9-1 success.

Childs Ercall also picked up three points with a comfortable 3-0 win at the expense of Prees.

Ed Baker netted a double with Andy Rich also on target.

AFC Broseley recorded a convincing 4-1 win over Wrockwadine Wood while Allscott maintained their unbeaten start with a 5-1 success against Oakengates Athletic.

Church Stretton finally won their first game of season – a 5-2 away victory at Madeley Sports.

In Division One, Stoke Heath kicked off their season with a convincing 8-1 triumph against Brown Clee.

AFC Wellington made it two wins out of two with a 4-2 away-day success at Wrockwadine Reserves.

Riverside beat Oswestry Reserves 4-1 in Division Two.

Madeley Reserves picked up a 3-1 success at Craven Arms while Broseley Reserves won 2-1 at Albrighton.

St Martins Reserves and Whitchurch Reserves drew 2-2
