Walsall have clinched the Birmingham Division One title despite slipping to a 37-run defeat against Bromsgrove.

On an enthralling day, a superb 101 from Jayden Levitt saw Bromsgrove reach 185 all out with skipper David Powles (4-34) and James Pearce (2-26) the pick of the Walsall bowlers.

In reply, Edward Denham top-scored with 45 not out but little support meant the league leaders were dismissed for just 148.

That result made it seem the title would go down to the final day, but Smethwick's defeat at Leamington secured the crown for Powles' men.

Smethwick's setback also allowed Old Hill to move into the runners-up spot and means if they beat Walsall on Saturday they will regain a top tier place for the first time since 2006.

In a match that started late due to heavy overnight rain, Harborne were routed by Old Hill for 113.

Daud Islam (3-15) and Billy Cox (3-33) did most of the damage before 31 from Dylan Keeling and an unbeaten 26 from Jimmy Howell eased Old Hill to a seven-wicket win.

Elsewhere, Himley defeated Barnards Green by 64 runs.

In the Premier Division, it remains do-or-die for Wolverhampton despite a 12-run victory over Brockhampton.

After being put into bat, a spectacular 111 not out from South African Matthew Kleinveldt inspired Wolverhampton's win as they closed on 241-3 from 50 overs.

In reply, Brockhampton could only mange 229 with Kleinveldt again starring with the ball as he posted figures of 3-36.

To ensure their survival Dan Bowyer's side need to beat Barnt Green next weekend, a result that would mean either Brockhampton or Dorridge will fall through the trap door.

Kidderminster Victoria suffered their first defeat in the 50-over format as Berkswell secured a 28-run victory. Berkswell raced to 253 all out after being out into bat.

But in reply, Kidderminster could only manage 225 with Nathan Round (55) and Neil Pinner (54) the leading run scorers.

Rawlston Tappin (68) and Basit Zaman (40) helped West Bromwich Dartmouth to victory as they were dismissed for 214 by Dorridge.

But bottom of the table Dorridge could only manage 180 in reply with Warwickshire's Ateeq Javid claiming 4-47.

In Division Two, next week's clash between Stourbridge and Brewood will play a key role in deciding who goes down.

If Stourbridge win, they will escape after spending most of the season in the bottom two but a win for Brewood will open the door for Eastnor or themselves.

Stourbridge remain in contention after Saturday's seven-wicket win over Wombourne while rock-bottom Brewood were shot out for 98 in reply's to Tamworth's118.

Elsewhere, Halesowen beat Coventry & NW by eight runs but Penkridge slipped to a 54-run loss at promoted Sutton Coldfield.

There was a surprise defeat for Division Three leaders Cannock&Rugeley Hawks as they went down by 79 runs to Astwood Bank.

There were also defeats for Fordhouses against Stratford-upon-Avon and Pelsall against Whitchurch.
