Hednesford Town announce Bernard McNally as new boss

Hednesford Town have revealed that former West Bromwich Albion and Pitmen midfielder, Bernard McNally, will take over as manager at Keys Park.

McNally, 52, began his career at Shrewsbury Town before moving to The Hawthorns in 1989, making over 150 appearances.

He played at Keys Park for two seasons towards the end of his career.

The Shrewsbury-born midfielder was also capped five times by Northern Ireland.

A step into management was handed to McNally by the reformed AFC Telford United in 2004, after a brief spell managing Pune FC in India, McNally coached the Pitmen in 2009 before managing Welsh side Newport.

He takes over the National League North club after the departures of Rob Smith and Larry Chambers - who both rejoined AFC Telford.
