Transfer Rumours – July 24
Expressandstar.com bring you all of the latest transfer talk from Wolves, West Brom, Aston Villa and Walsall.
We are not saying they are true – just that they are out there.
WOLVES
A new name in the mix, Premier League new-boys Bournemouth, could be the ones to take departed Wolves winger Bakary Sako into the Premier League.
Sako has yet to get fixed up with a club since his summer departure from Molineux, where he was out of contract, and time is running out for him.
The 27-year-old seemed set for a move to Leicester City, only for the Foxes to go cold on their interest after replacing boss Nigel Pearson with Claudio Raineri.
The Mali international won't lower his £80,000-a-week wage demands too much, but Bournemouth are willing to play ball having already splashed the cash in the close season.
West Brom, Aston Villa, Everton, Newcastle United and Stoke City, along with Besiktas and Dynamo Moscow overseas, have all been linked.
WEST BROM
West Brom are ready to more than double star striker Saido Berahino's wages to keep him from being interested in a £23.3million move to Tottenham Hotspur.
The England Under-21 international, who netted 20 goals for the Baggies last season, will be offered a huge rise on his £15,000-a-week salary.
An offer close to £40,000-a-week could see the 21-year-old pen new terms and ward off Spurs, who want to revamp their current forward line.
Emmanuel Adebayor could be on his way out of White Hart Lane, leaving just Harry Kane and the out-of-form Roberto Soldado on their books.
ASTON VILLA
Aston Villa are looking to move swiftly and replace captain Fabian Delph and striker Christian Benteke, who have joined Manchester City and Liverpool respectively.
French midfielder Nampalys Mendy, who plays for Nice in his homeland, is on boss Tim Sherwood's list to fill the Delph void, along with Tottenham's Tom Carroll.
Villa may bring in two forwards with the £32.5m raised for Benteke, with Queens Park Rangers goal-getter Charlie Austin and Bordeaux's Uruguay target-man Diego Rolan their top targets.
WALSALL
All quiet at the Banks's Stadium today.
