Wayne Rooney had a very amusing celebration when scoring the third goal in a 3-0 demolition of Tottenham on Sunday.

Rooney mimicked punching and falling to the ground after leaked video footage showed the striker being knocked out by Sunderland Phil Bardsley while boxing in his own kitchen.

That got us trawling through the archives in search of the very best goal celebrations of all time.

Do you remember these?

5 Bebeto - Brazil vs Holland 1994

Who could forget Brazil's dominance in the 1994 World Cup finals? It was the Romario and Bebeto show as the South Americans swept aside the opposition to lift the trophy. Bebeto's goal vs Holland in the quarter-finals will go down as one of the most iconic celebrations ever. After becoming a dad for the first time, Bebeto's cradling motions following his goal are still copied by new football dads to this very day

4 Jurgen Klinsmann vs Sheff Wed 1994

After arriving with a reputation for diving, Klinsmann scored on his debut for Spurs and made the most of his reputation by diving into the turf, a trademark that was soon to replicated by every schoolboy known to man.

3. Paul Gascoigne vs Scotland 1996

Probably England's most memorable moment in their recent history. Gazza received plenty of public attention for the famed 'dentists chair' incident after being snapped on a drink binge with Teddy Sheringham in Hong Kong prior to Euro '96. This celebration against Scotland was a classic.

2. Stuart Pearce vs Spain 1996

In the same tournament, Stuart Pearce scored one of the best penalties you are ever likely to see. Not because of the skill or accuracy, but you could see how much it meant to the defender after missing from the spot in the 1990 World Cup. Brilliant.

1. Eric Cantona vs Sunderland 1996

A vintage year for celebrations judging by the top three picks. Eric Cantona at his sublime best with this stunning goal against Sunderland. The arrogance and sheer brilliance of the celebration is iconic.
