West Brom vs Birmingham City: A trip down memory lane
If history is anything to go by, it should be raining goals in tomorrow's West Midlands FA Cup Fourth round derby clash.
The Baggies have certainly had the last laugh recently but Blues have had their moments over the years, with some eye-catching results at St Andrews.
Last Time Out:
It was all smiles for the visitors back in 2010-11 as second half strikes from Youssouf Mulumbu, James Morrison and Paul Scharner cancelled out Jean Beausejour's 48th minute effort.
It didn't get much better for Birmingham that year, as they were relegated from the Premier League just a month later.
Biggest Wins:
West Brom - Give yourself a pat in the back if you were at the game on Monday 18 April 1960. There was plenty of "boing boinging" that night as the Baggies romped to a 7-1 win.
It was a good time to be a season ticket holder at that time - they won 6-0 in the same fixture a year earlier.
Birmingham City - Blues have the biggest win in the Premier League era as Robbie Savage, Clinton Morrison, Emile Heskey and Darren Anderton ran riot at St Andrews in a 4-0 demolition.
The game was dead and buried at half-time with the Blues 3-0 up inside 30 mins.
They also won by the same scoreline in 1999 and 1948. Congratulations if you were at all three.
Last Sending Off
Birmingham City's Julian Gray has that unfortunate record when given his marching orders in the 66th minute during a 1-1 draw in 2007.
Blues were 1-0 down at the time, but rallied to snatch a last gasp equaliser through Damien Johnson.
Paul Robinson was sent off in the reverse fixture earlier that season, as Gary McSheffrey's brace was enough for a 2-0 win.
Snore Time
It wasn't the best time to watch a derby back in the 1923-24 season as both games finished 0-0.
FA Cup Stats
The first meeting between the clubs was an FA Cup tie at Stoney Lane back in March 1886. The Baggies finished up 4-0 winners and went onto win the first five encounters between the two.
This is the first time the sides been drawn in the FA Cup for 47 years.
The sides have met eight times in FA Cup history with West Brom winning six, one draw and one solitary Blues victory back in 1956.
