Transfer Rumours - January 15
Expressandstar.com bring you all of the latest transfer talk from Wolves, West Brom, Aston Villa and Walsall.
We are not saying they are true – just that they are out there.
WOLVES
Wolves boss Kenny Jackett today ruled out a loan move for forgotten man Michael Jacobs while Bakary Sako is out in Africa.
However, Jackett could be open to letting Jacobs depart temporarily should Sako's stay with Mali in the African Nations Cup be cut short.
Championship side Birmingham City still want Jacobs and are monitoring developments, with Sako kicking off for his country on Saturday.
WEST BROM
West Brom face competition after targeting Blackburn Rovers striker Rudy Gestede, who has netted 12 Championship goals this season.
The 26-year-old Frenchman is also in Premier League rivals Hull City's sights, who are prepared to meet the £4.5million asking price.
The Baggies are ready to clear the decks up front by moving on Georgios Samaras, who has failed to settle since his summer move to the Hawthorns.
The Greece international, 29, is one season into a two-year contract, but boss Tony Pulis is willing to let him leave the club this month.
ASTON VILLA
Aston Villa are prepared for loanee Tom Cleverley's exit this month, with the Manchester United midfielder kicking his heels on a £7.5million move.
Everton are waiting in the wings, but the England international could yet return to Old Trafford and run down his contract, which expires at the end of the season.
Villa this week purchased Spanish playmaker Carles Gil to cover their bases, and could even allow Jack Grealish out to join Nottingham Forest on loan.
WALSALL
All quiet at the Banks's Stadium today.
