Club secretary Ronnie Brown confirmed the departures of boss Andy Paddock, assistant Tom Horton and much of the squad.

Brown said the exits have nothing to do with the car crash involving players on the M54 that forced the postponement of Saturday's game at AFC Bridgnorth.

Paddock confirmed disciplinary problems on the pitch had led to a lot of fines but claimed players were paying for physiotherapy treatment and tracksuits themselves.

Their exits meant Last night's League Cup tie against Black Country Rangers and Saturday's West Midlands Premier trip to Bilston Town have been postponed.

Youth team boss Andy Blower and Mark Saville, who was Paddock's predecessor, are expected to take over while the club consider their options.

Their next game is due to be a Birmingham County FA Midweek Floodlit Cup tie at home to Pilkington Triplex next Tuesday.

Wednesfield are currently fourth from bottom of West Midlands League Premier Division.
