Kenny Jackett: It's a royal flush for Wolves

Boss Kenny Jackett today warned Reading that his former Royals are ready to reign on their old turf at the Madejski Stadium.

Wolves travel to Berkshire boasting the best defensive record in all four divisions and, with former Reading stars Scott Golbourne and James Henry on board, Jackett believes his boys are maturing into top Championship players.

"If Scott is selected, I think Reading will see a more mature player as it's quite a number of years ago he was at Reading, as was James Henry," he said.

"They're two ex-Reading players who I'm sure will be looking forward to going back to their old club and playing. I think Scott has been quoted as saying that Nicky Shorey was there at the time and he was in the England squad.

"They were both younger lads at that time who maybe didn't get their opportunities and needed to go down the football pyramid to build up their experience.

"Now, coming into their mid-20s and into their prime, they're looking for it to be their time and the best parts of their career going forward."

Jackett, however, is warning his mean machine they will be severely tested in Sunday's showdown.

"Glenn Murray and Simon Cox have been playing up front but also along the line they have options with Jamie Mackie, Nick Blackman and Pavel Pogrebnyak," added Jackett.

"They have a lot of attacking options and I think they will be a very open, attacking team."

Wolves have been recognised this season as one of the best passing sides but the head coach is quick to point out that there has to be an end product.

"We're up there with the teams who have passed it the most," he said.

"We're certainly up there in terms of ball retention.

"That's not everything; phase one is dominating the ball, and phase two is what you do with it.

"Those are the two things we work constantly on in training.

"Phase one won't be enough to win us games or get us promoted, but phase one will make phase two better."
