Ron Atkinson, one of football's most charismatic former managers, has attracted massive interest for his appearance in Wolverhampton next month.

Atkinson won the League Cup with Villa in 1994 and had two spells in charge of West Brom during a glittering career.

He will be live on stage at the Cleveland Arms, Stow Heath Lane, on Thursday September 25.

All VIP tickets have already been sold for the event but some standard tickets remain on sale.

'Big Ron' turned 75 earlier this year and admits he's enjoying life as much as ever as he looks ahead to his visit.

"I always tell people I left school at 15 and haven't worked since!" said Ron.

"I'm still travelling to Dubai, I love the place, and I'm still doing dinners and other appearances. I'm enjoying it. I'm sure we will have a good night."

Will Adamson, who is promoting the event at the Cleveland Arms, said: "We are extremely proud and honoured to have Big Ron as our guest.

"The VIP tickets sold fast and I'm sure we will be close to capacity once the event is here.

"For the comfort of the audience we will restrict the capacity to 200, so we would urge everyone to snap up their ticket to avoid disappointment.

"During my dealings with Ron, it's been an education. He's still the gaffer, he's made that clear in our conversations!"

Tickets are available from the Cleveland Arms, by calling 01902 451021 or at clevelandarms.com.
