Dave Edwards eyes up a senior role at Wolves
Dave Edwards today claimed he can be one of Wolves' elder statesmen as he celebrated his new two-year Molineux contract.
The 28-year-old yesterday penned a new deal that will extend his stay with the club to eight and a half years.
And the former Shrewsbury man believes he can play his part off the field as well as on it as Kenny Jackett seeks a new core of senior players following the loss of influential figures including George Elokobi.
"We have got a young squad and I'm enjoying being one of the more experienced players who hopefully some of the younger lads will look up to," said Edwards, who has made 181 appearances for Wolves.
Meanwhile, reports in France have linked Wolves with a move for AC Ajaccio's teenage striker Issa Baradji.
The 18-year-old is reportedly available for around £400,000.
