Stourbridge secure funding to improve facilities
Stourbridge have been awarded £46,615 from Sport England to improve facilities at Amblecote.
The Glassboys are one of 324 projects to secure a share of the National Lottery cash from Sport England's Inspired Facilities fund.
The improvements will include a complete refurbishment of the players' changing rooms, shower areas and the referee's and physio's rooms.
All will get new non-slip flooring, walls, ceilings and furniture, and will be made fully disability accessible. The work will allow the club to host an increased number of junior and community matches as they look to continue their growth.
Club director, Gordon Thomas, said today: "The grant is enabling us to make a very big step forward in our plans to improve many areas of the club, bringing them up to modern day standards. We are very aware of our role within the community and as such it is our aim to make Stourbridge FC accessible to all."
The Glassboys have also moved into the Northern Premier League from the Southern League Premier Division this summer.
The move results from a re-shuffle of the pyramid after Worksop Town's resignation from the league.
