The 23-year-old defender headed the first goal in the 2-0 win over Posh, his second of the season after netting in a 3-3 draw at Rotherham on December 21.
As he celebrated in front of the South Bank, he lifted his Wolves jersey to reveal a white T-shirt with the words 'RIP Josh' written across it in recognition of his pal from Brierley Hill, Josh Jones, who died in a car crash recently.
Batth, who was booked for lifting his shirt, and Josh were friends during their school days at Thorns Community College growing up in Brierley Hill.
Batth tweeted: "Sad loss to the people of the local area, Josh Jones a friend from school who won't be forgotten for being such a great guy. RIP"
The Molineux stopper was pally with Josh during his school days and it's understood he has kept in touch with the Jones family.
Batth was part of a defence that kept a 23rd clean sheet of the season in the league, equalling the club record from 1923-24.
Wolves' latest victory sees them on 90 points – just two short of equalling another club record – and they need just seven points to clinch promotion with five games left.
