Tennant, a 2012 world team pursuit champion, is the most experienced rider in a youthful team.

An 11-rider British squad will be heading to Guadalajara, Mexico, for the January 17-19 event.

The call-up caps an exciting festive season for 26-year-old Tennant, who got engaged to girlfriend Lauren Bason on Christmas Day.

Dani King is the sole Olympic champion named in the squad. King, who won team pursuit gold at London 2012, will ride in individual events.

Two-time junior world champion Danni Khan makes her elite World Cup debut in a youthful women's sprint group alongside Victoria Williamson.

Also making their debuts are Khan's fellow academy riders Chris Latham, Jacob Ragan and Oliver Wood.

The event offers an opportunity for the younger riders who have an eye on the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and gives the established squad members time to concentrate on training for the Track Cycling World Championships in February.
