Amy Smith out in swimming semi-finals
Midlands Olympian Amy Smith just missed qualifying for the World Swimming Championships 100m semi-final today.

The 26-year-old, from Kidderminster, was 21st fastest in the heats in Barcelona, with the top 16 making the semi-final, after clocking 55.40s.
She missed out by 0.35s with Russia's Karin Prinsloo claiming the final spot in 55.05s with Australia's Cate Campbell, who won 4x100m relay gold at London 2012. fastest in 53.24s.
Smith races in her favoured event – the 50m freestyle – on Saturday.
