Kidderminster Harriers striker Steve Guinan has targeted a return from injury in Saturday's Blue Square Premier match away at promoted Dartford.

Guinan has missed the first three matches of the season with a twisted ankle, sustained in the Worcestershire Senior Cup final.

Defeats to Lincoln, Luton and Mansfield have left Harriers bottom of the table but they could be boosted by the much-travelled hitman's return.

The 36-year-old has stepped up his training this week with a view to being involved, as Harriers look to pick up their first points of the campaign.

He said: "I just went over on it, tweaked a few fibres and tore a few ligaments but, hopefully, I can be back on Saturday.

"It's frustrating but that's football, I should know that from all of the years I have been playing!

"If I am fit, I am fit, whether I start or not is up to the manager but, if I can pass a fitness test, I will be involved.

"For me, it's just great to be back, after sitting back and watching on frustratedly for the first few games."

Guinan called for calm as an experienced campaginer and insisted that Harriers expected their "tough start."

He said: "We knew it was going to be a tough start but it has been, perhaps, worse than we thought.

"But I don't think there's any reason to be uptight or to worry, there's still 40-odd games to play yet."

Nathan Blissett arrived in time for the Mansfield game to swell the Harriers striking ranks, a new signing after leaving Romulus.

Blissett played in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Guinan's Hartpury College team last week and the veteran was impressed.

He said: "I think Nathan will be a handful, you look at him and he's 6ft 3in, he's got all the raw ingredients to be a good forward.

"He's comes from Romulus so, obviously, there's going to be aspects of his game that he will need to work on.

"But he seems to have a full bag of tools available and I am sure he will be an asset for us over the course of the season."
