Hednesford will welcome back their most famous player when Premier League star Ashley Williams returns to Keys Park for the club's end-of-season bash.

The Swansea and Wales international defender, who played 35 games in the top-flight this season, is the special guest on Friday night.

Wolverhampton-born Williams will present the award to the Pitmen's youth team, who won the Midland Floodlit Youth League Northern Division title.

It was Hednesford who took the 27-year-old in when he was released from Albion aged 16, spending two years with the club from 2001.

The Football League then came calling as Williams moved on to Stockport, beating off competition from Oldham Athletic for his services.

The powerful centre-back won a full Wales call-up and secured a move to Swansea in the same month, March 2008, and his rise has continued.

Williams has made 146 appearances for the Swans, who defied the odds to finish 11th in the Premier League last season, and won 32 caps for Wales.

Tickets are available by contacting the club on 01543 422 870. They are priced at £3 for supporters club members and £4 for non-members.
