Kidderminster Harriers today faced the possibility that midfielder Jack Byrne could miss the start of the Blue Square Premier play-offs should they make the cut.

Byrne limped off with a hamstring strain in Monday's dramatic 3-2 win at home to Newport Country and his conditition has yet to improve.

The 22-year-old is almost certainly out of the last three league games and will be on the sidelines when Kettering come to Aggborough on Saturday.

A trip to Luton the following Saturday and the visit of Mansfield on April 28 complete the fixture list, before the play-offs start the following midweek.

Harriers currently occupy fifth spot by two points and, if that stays the same, Byrne will be fighting to be fit to be back for the promotion games.

In the meantime, Kyle Storer is back from a two-match suspension to replace Byrne for Saturday's match against the already-relegated Poppies.

But, despite a visiting side on a downer with nothing to play for but pride, seven-goal striker Anthony Malbon has warned against complacency.

Kettering ended Harriers' play-off hopes with a 1-0 win at Aggborough on the final day of the 2008-09 season and Malbon won't take them lightly.

He said: "They may be relegated but they will come here with zero pressure on them and that can make them dangerous.

"Look at Bath – they got relegated and then went and won away in the very next game.

"It's quite common for teams who've gone down to put a bit of a run together, because they can play with a bit of freedom.

"You can't take them lightly and the pressure on Saturday will be on us to beat them."
