Stafford Rangers have extended the loan of midfielder Sean Kinsella until the end of the season before today's non-league transfer deadline.

Kinsella will see out the last six games of the season with Rangers in his third spell with the club, although Northwich have a 24-hour recall clause.

The 21-year-old will then become a free agent again with his contract up at the Victoria Stadium, where he moved from Rangers in November.

The Stone-based man left Marston Road after turning down a deal until the end of the season, which would have replaced his non-contract forms.

But Rangers are footing the full bill of his wages while they borrow him, with boss Greg Clowes revealing he nearly missed out on extending the deal.

Clowes said: "We have agreed with Northwich to keep Sean for the rest of the season but, of course, there is a 24 hour call back.

"Even though that is past the deadline, they can do that but, initially, there were not going to let him stay with us.

"They have had a change of heart so Sean will remain with us now, as long as they don't pick up any injuries."

The Rangers boss insists there's more to come from Kinsella, who has played four Evo-Stik Northern Premier League games since his return.

And Clowes is looking for the sort of levels the former Plymouth Argyle trainee displayed when he first arrived as a loanee in November 2010.

He said: "Sean has played four games but I still don't think he's match fit, as he's hardly played at all for Northwich.

"His fitness levels are OK but he's not as sharp as I would like him to be. That only comes with playing games."
