Matthew Jukes fit for Rangers debut
Stafford Rangers could hand a belated debut to striker Matthew Jukes in their Evo-Stik Northern Premier League game at North Ferriby United.
Stafford Rangers could hand a belated debut to striker Matthew Jukes in their Evo-Stik Northern Premier League game at North Ferriby United.
Jukes signed from Tividale two weeks ago but his bow has been delayed by a hamstring injury, picked up playing for his former club.
But the 6ft 3in forward is fit-again and will join the squad for the trip tomorrow, where the hosts will be looking to leapfrog their visitors.
Rangers are a place above the home side on goal difference in 11th spot, having dropped out of the top 10 because of Matlock 's point in midweek.
Greg Clowes' men have seven games of their campaign left and the manager has warned they are all likely to be a test of their credentials.
And the Rangers boss has told his players there should be no letting up as the finishing line comes a game closer to sight.
He said: "If you have two or three wins on the trot, that table can look a lot better and we have to keep this little winning streak going.
"If you look at our last seven games and take away North Ferriby and Nantwich, the rest of them are all fighting for survival.
"They could all be relegated and that makes them very, very tough games. I would rather play the teams at the top than at the bottom.
"We are expecting a scrap every week, three out of the bottom four won last weekend but I am not bothered about them, it's about us.
"I want to finish the season off properly and set ourselves a good benchmark for next season."
Rangers are back on home soil against Burscough at Marston Road next Saturday, having won their last two games as hosts.
Clowes said: "We are starting to pick up points quite regularly at home now, which is really pleasing.
"We are now picking points up at home, which we weren't doing. Our home form has improved but we need to keep winning away, as well."
