Kidderminster Harriers manager Steve Burr today hailed Aggborough as 'the land of opportunity' for players looking to break into the full-time game.

Harriers' latest import from the semi-pro ranks, £7,000 capture Anthony Malbon, arrived from part-timers Newcastle Town last week.

Malbon opened his account in last Saturday's 2-0 win at Alfreton and again featured as a substitute in Tuesday's 1-1 draw at home to York.

While the striker's arrival has bolstered Harriers' attack, goalkeeper Tony Breeden has been between the sticks since he signed in November.

The 23-year-old took the jersey with boss Burr still reeling from losing Danny Lewis to injury for the season and has nailed down the No 1 spot.

Breeden had been without a club since leaving Leamington and moving to Aggborough gave him a shot at the full-time game.

Malbon was at Port Vale before drifting off into the semi-pro game, but boss Burr made a conscious effort to look down the leagues for talent.

Stourbridge forward Ryan Rowe was Harriers' first move before Malbon accepted with gusto and the manager is looking for 'another Breeden.'

Burr said: "Tony's been excellent for us since he's come in and just gets on with it.

"He's a strange character and we love him to bits - he's a typical goalkeeper and you can't get any sense out of him at times!

"He has come in here and, again, is a lad from a lower level who is showing a lot of people that you can make that step up.

"He has certainly done that."
