Stafford Rangers midfielder Dan Skelton is set to be recalled for the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League against Stocksbridge Park Steels.

Skelton was left out of last weekend's impressive 1-0 win at Marine but is likely to return to the squad for Saturday's game at Marston Road.

The 22-year-old dropped out of the team in the New Year after picking up a bug but was ready to play last weekend and is fully match-fit.

However, Skelton is likely to have to settle for a place on the bench alongside Glynn Blackhurst, as Rangers field an unchanged team.

Michael Carr and Kevin Street are the preferred midfield pairing, with striker Chris Morris set for his home debut alongside Neville Thompson.

Rangers could win three games in a row for the first time this season with a victory on Saturday, after back-to-back away successes.

Manager Greg Clowes said: "We have a chance of doing something we have not done all season and that's to win three games on the trot.

"The question keeps cropping up as to why our home form is not as good as our away form and it's a mystery to me.

"We have got to keep at it because, if our home form was good, I am sure we would be in a far superior place to where we are now."

After playing two of the play-off chasers, Rangers now host a team languishing in the fourth relegation spot.

Steels have only won once since boss Chris Willcock replaced Gary Marrow in November, but have picked up four draws.

Clowes said: "He's shaken it up and they have certainly been picking up points a bit more frequently than before he took over.

"We have got to be careful."
