Chasetown goalkeeper Mariusz Kisiel will get the chance to impress at Coventry this week after the Championship club handed him a two-day trial.

The Polish-born teenager will spend today and tomorrow with the Sky Blues, working under the tutelage of goalkeeping coach Steve Ogrizovic.

The 17-year-old, who is based in Great Barr, has already been registered with the Scholars first-team and was an unused substitute against Heath Hayes in the Walsall Senior Cup.

Kisiel leaves with the permission of academy boss Andy Turner and follows the path of Lee Wright, a former graduate who went to the Football League with Wycombe in July 2010.

Wright was the first to come through the youth system, which was set up in August 2009, and Kisiel could have a choice of clubs if he decides to follow, according to Turner.

He said: "Mario has done fantastically well, he's gone to Coventry but one or two other Football League clubs that want to have a look him at well.

"He's looking forward to it, as he should do, and we wouldn't want to stand in his way if it comes off for him.

"It's a testament to what we are trying to do here."

Wright is now back at the Scholars Gound on work experience with the first-team, as Wycombe look for him to get his first-team education started.

Kisiel may have only warmed the bench at senior level so far but his chance could come if he stays at the club, assistant boss Andy Cox insists.

He said: "The lad has got a bright future and good luck to him but, if that doesn't happen, I am sure he will be at the forefront of our plans.

"He's had glowing reports from the academy games and if we are safe with a few games to go and he's still at the club, we could have a look at him.

"It's important that, the way the game is going financially, we try to grow our own players."
