Wolverhampton's Wayne Jones has jumped up a place in the world rankings despite bowing out of the PDC World Championships to eventual winner Adrian Lewis.

'The Wanderer' lost 4-0 in the last 16 to reigning champion Lewis last Wednesday night, who went on to become the only man apart from Phil Taylor to retain the PDC title.

But Jones' performances in coming through two rounds, where he beat Scott MacKenzie and Roland Scholten, has seen him rise to 13th in the PDC Order of Merit.

Out of those below him in the top 20, only beaten finalist Andy Hamilton - who has jumped from 17th to seventh - got further than Jones, while 15th-placed Colin Lloyd joined him in the last 16.

Out of those above Jones in the rankings, Mark Webster and Raymond van Barneveld went out in the first round while Wes Newton, Mark Walsh and Vincent van der Voort reached the last 32.
