Chasetown manager Chris Brindley has targeted a derby double over two of his former clubs as the Scholars look to build on their Hednesford win against Rushall Olympic.

Brindley's men host the Pics at the Scholars Ground on January 2 with one derby success already under their belts over the festive season, at Keys Park on Boxing Day.

Darren Stride's goal won it as Brindley had the last laugh at his former club, where he scored the winner in the FA Trophy final of 2004 and was manager from June of that year to December 2005.

Now the Scholars boss is looking to put one over on another of his former teams when Rushall, where Brindley was assistant manager from 2007 to 2008, come to town for a Bank Holiday showdown.

He said: "I was delighted with the win, Hednesford are a top team and our lads worked their socks off. Credit to them, it was a great result for our club.

"We have just got to keep going at Rushall, we have got a good record against them the last couple of years but they are always tight games.

"Everybody has played with each other over the last few years so we know everything about each other.

"It might not be a classic, but it will be a highly competitive game.

"They are having a great season, their first in this league, they are a very commited side, they have done a great job so far.

"But we go into the game with confidence."

Brindley has fond memories of his time at Dales Lane, where he was No 2 to Paul Holleran for the second half of the 2006-07 season and again for the 2007-08 campaign.

The 42-year-old was then lured away by his former Wolves team-mate Steve Bull, who was manager at Stafford Rangers, with Brindley taking up the Marston Road hot-seat later that year.

He said: "I had a good time there, they are a great bunch of people on the committee at Rushall and it was an enjoyable period for me.

"I am pleased they are doing well."
