Stafford Rangers manager Greg Clowes believes "a door will open" for a member of his squad after Sean Kinsella sealed his exit to Northwich Victoria.

Despite the offer of a contract on the table at Marston Road, the 20-year-old midfielder has left the club after refusing to play in last Saturday's 3-2 win at Burscough.

Kinsella claims that their Evo-Stik Northern Premier League rivals are a bigger club, according to the Rangers boss, after meeting him before Northwich's game at Crewe on Tuesday night.

Clowes saw little point in persuading the player otherwise and has used some of the money on offer to Kinsella to sign Fabrice Kasiama, from last season's team, on non-contract forms.

Kasiama has already had the rule ran over him in training and is an addition to the left wing, where on the other flank Rob Stevenson caught the eye last Saturday, scoring after starting the game.

And Clowes believes the continuing emergence of players from within the squad will ensure no-one who leaves is bigger than the team.

He said: "Every week in football, one door closes and another door opens. Rob Stevenson took his chance last Saturday and, when you look at it, he deserves his chance now.

"I am not going to say he's arrived, but he's given himself a real chance of starting on Saturday.

"If we are winning games, I have got to stick with the lads that are winning these games for us."
