Stafford Rangers manager Greg Clowes has told his fallen Football League stars to use Marston Road as a launch pad to breathe fresh life into their careers.

Jason Beardsley, Luke George and Sean Kinsella are trying to find their feet again in the part-time game after leaving professional clubs this year.

Beardsley has played for Derby County, Notts County and Macclesfield while George is a product of the academy at Crewe, who even went on trial at Premier League club Blackburn in the summer.

Kinsella's gamble of leaving Plymouth to play in Malta for Hibernians last season backfired and the Stone-based midfielder drifted into non-league football, after previously playing for Rangers on loan.

All are 22 or under and still have long careers in the game, with Clowes insisting the right application in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League could bring them back onto the pro radar.

He said: "You have to got to be playing to get noticed again. There's no use jumping around from one club to the next, they need to settle down and get a foothold in non-league football."
