Stafford Rangers midfielder Michael Morton could make a quicker-than-expected return from injury in the FA Trophy tie at Chester.

Morton was expected to be sidelined for a month with a hamstring problem but is set to return a week ahead of schedule, provided there's no reaction from last night's training session.

Captain Paul Donnelly, another hamstring victim, and Ryan Dicker were sidelined in the same game as Morton, a 1-0 win at Chasetown three weeks ago, but are some way off a return to action.

Dicker starts training again on Tuesday with a cast on his broken hand and could play next weekend, while Donnelly will do some light work next week but won't be match fit until the following week.

Rangers wing-back Jon Sheldon is also a doubt for tomorrow's game with a long-standing knee injury, which forced him to miss Tuesday night's 2-0 Staffordshire Senior Cup defeat at Leek.
