Birmingham's Don Broadhurst was today handed the chance to relaunch his career after he was confirmed as the latest entrant in the first super flyweight Prizefighter.

Broadhurst will be one of the eight men in the one-night, three-rounds-a-fight, winner-take-all tournament at Liverpool's Olympia, live on Sky Sports on October 12.

'The Don' was the Commonwealth champion at the weight until he bumped into Lee Haskins in December 2009, losing his title and the chance to win the British crown in their unification bout.

The 27-year-old could get the chance to avenge that wide points loss to Haskins, who is also in Prizefighter, when the draw is made.

Broadhurst will be hoping to use the tournament as a launchpad for his ailing career. The 2006 Commonwealth Games gold medalist had looked to have made a seamless transistion into the pro ranks.

But losing to Haskins preceded a shock defeat to Najah Ali, again on points, in his last fight a year ago.
