Coseley's Tommy Ghent will box in a Black Country derby with Walsall's Danny Clews on his professional debut at the Tower Ballrooms in Birmingham.

Ghent and Clews have been paired together after Birmingham's Andrew Patterson was ruled out, leaving Clews without an opponent for the Dave Coldwell-promoted bill on Friday night.

Patterson was stopped after just 88 seconds of his fight against debutant Leon Findlay in Swansea on Saturday night and, under British Boxing Board of Control rules, will not be allowed to compete.

Ghent was due to face Luton's Gavin Putney in a welterweight four-rounder but Clews, who has one win and one loss on his record, will now take Putney's place.

A highly-rated prospect, Ghent comes into the professional game on the back of two national titles as an amateur and has already been signed to Hayemaker Promotions.

The 19-year-old is the younger brother of Richard Ghent, who won an International Masters welterweight title as a professional last year.
